General Information about the C-1 Transit Visa: The C-1 Transit Visa allows non-immigrants to enter the United States and transit to another country. You can use the C-1 Transit Visa to travel within the United States and back to another country. A valid B-1 Business Visa or B-2 Tourist Visa is sufficient to get a US Transit Visa. Transit through the United States may not be made possible by any other valid nonimmigrant visa. C-1 Transit Visas are not required for individuals from Visa Waiver Countries. Please note: The Transit Without Visa (TWOV) program and International-to-International (ITI) program were both suspended by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State on August 2nd, 2003.
