English can be confusing for people who don’t speak English as a first language. Both Fiancees and Fiances of citizens of the United States can apply for the K-1 Visa.

Fiancee: A woman to which a man is engaged to marry.
Fiance: An individual to whom a woman is proposing to marry.

K-1 Fiancee Visa and Fiance Visa Eligibility Conditions:

The fiancee is considered a nonimmigrant until the actual marriage. Non-immigrants are foreign nationals who temporarily enter the United States to fulfil a specified purpose. An extension of the original 90-day non-immigrant admission cannot be granted to a fiancee. The foreign national can apply for Green Card through marriage to become an American citizen after the marriage.
